What's driving Sydney's Eastern Suburbs property market w/ Dennis Vertzayias
Sydney’s eastern suburbs are booming and Bondi is leading the charge. We sat down with Dennis Vertzayias from Laver to find out why. Dennis has spent decades in the eastern suburbs market. He knows the story better than anyone.
Our focus in this interview was to understand different segments of the market and how the affluent beachside areas are evolving. This flows through into other markets, regardless of where you are investing.
Bondi has shifted. It’s no longer just a tourist hub. New developments have brought quality, style, and a fresh sense of place. Streets like Hall and Gould have evolved. Cafes, galleries, and restaurants have reshaped the suburb.
Developers followed. Around a dozen high-end projects have launched in recent years. Owner-occupiers are the main buyers now. Downsizers, in particular, are driving demand. They want brand-new apartments with space, natural light, and wellness features.
The Bowey project, designed by Woods Bagot, is a good example. Heritage meets modern living. Fresh air, sunlight, and smart layouts are built into every corner.
